This week in the ECommerce-Guide eBay Watch column – eBay boosts insurance for PowerSellers who get bilked and updates Item Specifics features. Plus, we offer shipping tips and demystify some jargon.
“‘Do you have a tracking number? When did this item ship? Why have I not received my item? The list of shipping-related questions that sellers get can go on and on. In addition to general shipping problems, there are also border inspection delays for international purchases, packages that seem to be stalled in transit, insurance claims and so on.
“‘As a seller you should research postal shipping standards and always use services that offer a tracking number that you can give to your buyer. Tracking numbers not only prove that you shipped the item, but also enable buyers to use the postal service Web site to check on the shipment for themselves. This alone will eliminate many shipping questions from buyers.”
